Reindeer have always fascinated us, which is why the Norwegian Wild Reindeer Foundation commissioned a beautiful sanctuary built specifically for reindeer watching an hour north of Oslo in Dovrefjell National Park.
Designed by the local Snohetta Architects team, the small building is absolutely stunning. The location was created with the idea of a rock or ice which after being exposed to natural forces becomes a smooth, hard surface. The space provides visitors with a warm shelter to view local reindeer and enjoy the incredible views of the scenery that surrounds the pavilion. The shelter features half indoor seating, and half outdoor seating to provide a unique experience from the inside out.
